SRY VINCENT I HAVE YET TO PLAY YOUR GAME :(

I TOTALLY WILL THOUGH

My thoughts are basically, I love it. I don't buy into the whole, "omg they're making horrible games and tainting the sanctity of the original" crap. First of all, I love horrible shit now. Second of all, the sanctity of the original is PRETTY HARD TO ARGUE when you consider how amazingly retarded it is to begin with. WHAT IS THERE TO TAINT, THIS IS THE "THIS GUY ARE SICK" VENUE. Sephiroth had the dumbest backstory ever and he was the villain I cared about the least. In fact, I'll tell you a secret: I hated Final Fantasy VII with the righteous passion of a gamer who never had a PS1 and went across the street to watch my neighbors play, not allowed to touch the controller myself as I was a girl and would infect their PS1 with flowers or whatever girls carry. Thus, I had never actually played VII all the way myself, and essentially missed the entire second disc. In high school I vividly remember nearly getting into a fistfight with this one guy because we were fighting over VII's undeserved fame.

Then around last year I thought to myself, "Wow, I'm not a ragey righteous fangirl anymore. I can totally play VII." So I did! And it was awesome. I can honestly say it is flat-out my favorite Final Fantasy, even after years of HEATEDLY swearing by VI. Because now I'm zen, and VII has everything I love! It is retardedly overpowered, the party members are amazing, it has all the flaws and nostalgia of old games, it gets away with shit modern games could NEVER get away with, and I lloooove the story and the meta and how much of a game it feels like as opposed to a giant movie (Which, while I love, I do miss the retarded minigames).

And I LOVE Cloud. He's my baaaaby. I looove the characters. And Midgar is my favorite fictional city, ever, other than Gotham. Basically, VII has my favorite cast, my favorite plot, my favorite villains (other than Sephiroth, who BECAME a favorite villain thanks to Crisis Core) and my favorite heroes. (Other than MGS.)

SO WHEN THE ORIGINAL CREW STARTS SMOKING CRACK AND THINKS HEY, LET'S DO RANDOM SHIT EVERYWHERE!!1 I am all for it. I think telling different segments of a massive story in multiple venues and mediums is a hell of an undertaking and pretty damn awesome. And frankly, when some of these games have a HORRIBLE THING in them that is totally just FLAT-OUT TERRIBLE and can only be a source of mockery forever? THAT'S CANON. VII had SO MANY HILARIOUS ERRORS that are SO EPIC there is no forgetting them, so why should the sequels be any different? |D SHIT LIKE GENESIS IS IN THE SPIRIT OF VII. If there was a game in the compilation that DIDN'T have something that was the butt of a joke forever, I dunno what I'd do.

Though, I'm REALLY HAPPY Crisis Core is a fantastic game. I'm really happy they broke their "All our characters we add onto other than the original cast have horrible designs and suck ass" curse, because Angeal is awesome. And now I love Sephiroth thanks to that game. And dude, I thought that was impossible.

Basically uh. I'M NOT SURE IF THAT WAS WHAT YOU WERE ASKING FOR |D But I love the VII compliation. A looooot. I'm very zen about it and I fully intend to play Vincent May Cry because it's terrible and full of amazing epic badness that I will love. I'm not discounting how incredible I think VII's story truly is - I really do completely love it and I think it deserves every ounce of respect it has. But c'mon, taking it too seriously would be SILLY.

Also they need to give it up an fucking remake VII. I want to see a butch crossdresser look Cloud up and down and say "You the one that wants to be cute?" in PS3 graphics.

Haha that's like my story with the FF franchise IN GENERAL (I was all about Nintendo so when the VII mania happened I was all "HOW DARE SOMEBODY LIKE SOMETHING BETTER THAN ZELDA?!"). I didn't pick it up until college, when I was dragged by my ear to a SNES emulator.

I guess there wouldn't be too much to canon update TO after playing Vincent Mayvania, but would you consider it?

And of course they'll remake it. After XIII/vs. XIII/Agito XIII comes out. I bet my pants on this.

Yah I was a total Zelda loyalist too >D I HAD THE N64. PS1 COULDA SUCKED ME FOR ALL I CARED. O the good old days of the N64 vs PS1 rivalry T^Tb

And THAT DEPENDS, to me Dirge is sort of parallel with camp. I took him from post-movie, so knowing he's off doing retarded Dirge stuff afterwards makes me happy, cuz I'm having him doing retarded camp stuff. If there's things to "remember" about Vincent and Cid that he ought to remember, sure! But he's already learned Cid's married and all... so I dunno. I'd have to actually play it. >D But it probably wouldn't be much of an update, just an "o rite, and I did this back home too."

So yah I'd totally consider it, and it's safe to say I'd go ahead and actually do it if it didn't have much of an impact. >D HE'S IN POST-GAME MINIGAME CANON ANYWAY.

MY THEORY IS THEY WERE WAITING UNTIL THEY COULD MAKE THE WHOLE GAME LOOK LIKE THE MOVIE. PS3 CAN DO THIS. THEREFORE, THEY NEED TO SUCK IT UP AND DO IT.

T_T my hope theory is that they're gonna keep on remakin' the games in order until they get to VII. I WANT MY STUPID SEXY LOCKE, GODDAMMIT.

But yeah, VII remake will so go on the PS3. I mean, they're making a Blu-Ray "this is the director's cut REALLY" edition of AC.

From FF Wikia (http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Final_Fantasy_VII:_Advent_Children): At the Tokyo Game Show 2006, Square Enix showed a trailer of a movie titled Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete that is to be released on the Blu-ray disc format. New scenes will be added to the movie so it could be called an extended version, however, Director Tetsuya Nomura says that "it's not meant to be just an update to the original, but rather a replacement". The release date of this Blu-ray version has not been confirmed, although Nomura said a Japanese release should be mid 2007 and, as long as Blu-ray continues to expand in North America and other regions, Nomura says he would like to release it in those regions too.

At Tokyo Game Show 2007 Normura stated that Advent Children Complete had been postponed until the 2nd quarter of 2008. In a released trailer, altered scenes included an extended scene between Kadaj and Rufus, and the fight between Cloud and Sephiroth is also altered, including a scene where Sephiroth impales Cloud with his sword and lifts him into the air, a direct juxtapose what happened in their battle at the Nibelheim reactor.
